Things Eden Loves

Eden is becoming more and more an independent person. Lane and I often joke about how we have a little person walking around the house. She walks around with ease and she talks non-stop these days. Here are some of her favorite things to do:

*Play chase - Even though she doesn't move any faster when she "runs" you can tell by the way she puffs up and stands a little taller when she thinks she's running. She also giggles because she usually either runs because you're chasing her, or she runs because you ask her for something and she turns and runs the other direction.
*Scare Daddy - It's a new game that she and Lane play. He scares her by saying "Boo!" and she laughs hysterically and then she does it to him...over and over and over again! It is one of the funniest things to watch.
*Dance - I know she's been dancing for a little while now, but she's getting some moves of her own! It used to be just her head and you couldn't tell if she was saying no, or if she was dancing. Well, now, she dances. She bends her legs, stomps her feet {and can only move backwards for some reason}, and of course she still shakes her head too.
*Say "No, no, no, no." - Thank you Pop! Eden is quick to learn and she knows what she's not allowed to do. For example, there's a picture that {still} isn't hanging, but sitting on the floor leaning up against a wall in the living room. Eden knows she's not supposed to touch it, so she walks over to it, places one hand on it and looks at me and says, "No, no, no, no," and waits for affirmation before moving away from it. She will move away without a fight, but I do have to affirm that she is correct in thinking she shouldn't touch what she's touching.
*Name animal sounds - There are many animals that Eden is familiar with these days. She knows that a dog says "woof," a cow says "moo," a pig says "oink" {but its actually a snort in our house, Lane is encouraging this one!}, and a horse says "neigh." We are currently working on a bird because she's starting to notice them flying around.
*Point out airplanes - No matter where we go there is no shortage of airplanes anymore! We live on a Naval Air Station for crying out loud! Every time she hears an airplane {if she's inside or out} she will point up and expect to be asked, "where's the airplane" while she looks around for it.
*Signing - Eden knows how to sign the following: more, please, eat {her favorite food is anything with red sauce}, milk {which is actually for water as well}, and thank you.
*Kick - While we were attending The Little Gym in GA, we started practicing things with our feet. Eden has a ball of her own now and more and more Lane and I think we've got a natural soccer player on our hands. She will dribble the ball around the yard all afternoon {until she sees a bird or an airplane!}

  1. Brittany forgot to mention that Eden knows a sheep says "Baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baaa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa....." and so on and so forth. -Lane
