Fripp Pictures

Ok, so I lied. A few times. But I didn't mean to, and I have good explanation for it - promise! 1. Lane only got one flight done yesterday, boo. 2. I didn't post pictures from Fripp that were on my camera. Here's the good explanation though...Lane was home yesterday afternoon with nothing to plan for because it wasn't scheduled to fly today. Meaning, I had an afternoon and all {well, most} of today with him so I didn't want to sit on the computer and upload pictures. Please forgive me! Oh, and brace yourselves...there are A LOT of pictures coming your way!
The first golf cart ride of the trip. It didn't matter how late we got there, we were going on a ride.

Eden loved going for a "ride."

Hold on!

Pop had to talk her into walking on the sand. She thought it was "ucky."

Weirded out by the fact that the water moved.

She quickly got the hang of it and LOVED the water.

We couldn't get her to smile at the camera, but she would smile when we asked her to.

This is Eden's silly face.

She needed a hand to hold on the trek back up to the chairs from the water.

I told her to "relax" and this is how she sat in her seat...well, my seat.

She got the hang of playing with sand toys and digging with the shovels.  Her cousins were great teachers.

Movie night with the whole family. We watched Tarzan this year.

Kenna and Eden needed to get the sand off of them before going into the house after being at the beach. Eden sits in the sand and therefore had lots in her diaper, so she got to get naked outside for her shower.

Color of the year: PINK!

Of course we had to do a 1...2...3...! picture.

With Lauren, about to head to the beach for more family pictures.

Mimi and Pop with their grandkids.

Everyone!

Mimi and Pop with their kids.

The Daigles {that were able to make it}

Sara and Parker

The Gregorys

I tried to get a few pictures of Eden by herself because this was September 4, the day that she turned 18 months! Such a big girl!!!

Walking to the golf cart with Alyssa and Kenna.

Eden with Uncle Parker

We came back from pictures and this deer thought he was going to crash our circus night.

Todd {the sword swallower} Pop {the ring master} and Parker {the muscle man}

Mimi {the bearded woman} and Becca {the popcorn vendor}

Kenna and Sara {the clowns}

Noah {the leopard} Brittany {the elephant} and Eden {the lion}

Lauren, Alyssa, and Karen {the trapeze artists}

The whole family full of circus clowns!

Our photo op.

After our whipped cream competition. We had to find 2 gumballs  in a pie tin of whipped cream and blow a bubble first.

Eden with her pool at the beach. What a wonderful idea I stole from someone so she didn't have to be in the ocean to be in the water.

Eden relaxing with Pop.

Sidewalk chalk with Alyssa.

Pizza night with the family. We tried to go Monday before Parker and Sara had to leave, but the restaurant was closed for Labor Day.

At the pier to watch the sunset.

Crazy Times

Alright, I'm using the blog today in order to procrastinate on getting things done around here before family gets in next week and Lane gets his wings on Friday! Oh wow, can it really be?! Just 3 more flights {in addition to the 2 he's completing *fingers crossed* today} and then we welcome family starting next Tuesday and then WINGS! I'm so proud of him for everything he's accomplished in the past few years. Not many people can say their husband is a pilot for the Marine Corps - but I can!

Ok, but back to what I really got on here to say. I promised Fripp pictures, and Fripp pictures is what you'll get {and these are just from my phone}! I'll post the rest later today, hopefully. Enjoy the trip, we did :)
August 30 - The trip started with a visit to the doctor to see the new baby! (S)he looks good and the doctor was happy with the heartbeat and Eden was confused when we showed her the ultrasound and told her it was a baby.

August 30 - Then the trip was underway and Eden took a few naps {while hording her toys}.

August 31 - She's still hoarding toys, but she's given up on sleep. Not really, she started taking good naps in the car.

September 1 - In the car with everyone else sleeping too. She took a 2 hour nap this leg of the trip!

September 1 - Noah was asleep too!

September 1 - Alyssa took a nap at the same time.

September 1 - And Mimi slept too! The trip was very quiet.

September 2 - Eden loved golf cart rides. Especially the ones that ended at the pool or the "beak" {beach}.

September 3 - She started to get the hang of digging in the sand with the toys.

September 4 - Eden was smiling for the camera so we could send Daddy a "nigh nigh" picture.

September 6 - Eden sleeping in her crib one night. Her crib was in the master bedroom walk-in closet because it was vented and it allowed her to have her own "room." Notice her paci on the shelf next to her since she doesn't have bumpers for when she drops hers in her sleep.

September 7 - Eden wearing Alyssa's sunglasses with Mimi.

September 7 - Eden went home with Mimi to take a nap and I got to sit out at the Cabana Club and relax looking over the marsh as the tide came in.

September 8 - We rented bikes and Eden loved her little trailer to go for a "ride."

September 11 - We stopped for lunch {after a series of u-turns} at McDonald's and Alyssa checked her hamburger to make sure it was plain. It was...and it was missing a bite. I wouldn't let her eat it, I made her change it with them for a new one.

September 13 - Is Eden sleeping? Nope! She's just playing in the backseat...or keeping the sun out of her eyes. Not too sure!

September  13 - WELCOME HOME! Only 6 more hours...

September 13 - Yep, we're back in Texas alright!

Prayers Please

Today didn't have an easy start for many in the Daigle family. Lane's dad got the call we've all been dreading for a while now. This morning he was told that Grandma Daigle wasn't doing well and that her hospice nurse didn't expect that she'd live beyond 24 hours. She's been on hospice care for a few months now, so we knew the call would come soon, but none of us wanted to actually get the call.

As the day went on, there weren't really any changes and Grandma seemed to be pretty lucid for being so close to her time on earth to come to an end. Most of the day her pain level stayed the same and her children and other close family were close by her side. Lane called me about an hour ago to let me know that Grandma passed peacefully with her family surrounding her. She got to walk through those pearly gates into the loving arms of Grandpa, who we all know was waiting to embrace her!

I cannot help but think that God was watching over her and took her to his kingdom at a time that was the right time, His time. She passed away at a time that Lane's sister and her family were already flying in to visit and at a time when Eden and I would be passing through town in a few days on our way home from Fripp. He was sure to see to it that as many family members were together as possible! What a blessing through the heartache.

This is a hard time for many people. Though we know she's in a better place, we will miss her. Please, keep us in your prayers as we mourn the loss of Grandma and celebrate the life that she lived.

Before the Fripp Tripp

Here are some of the promised pictures from before we left Texas to make the LONG journey {24 hours total} to Fripp Island {with multiple stops along the way}.
August 20 - Eden loves her baby doll and hugs her all the time. She's started noticing the dolls and stuffed animals, so she's another level of "pretend" fun now!
August 20 - When Daddy's away, I'm just proud of myself for actually using the stove...even if it is just for grilled cheese and canned grean beans.

August 21 - 12 weeks, there's the bump. I got on the treadmill to do couch to 5k again.

August 22 - Eden with her colored shaving cream. She was happy in the beginning, but didn't like that it changed the water colors.

August 23 - Eden and Nelson poking his bellybutton. After I took this and looked at it, Lane and I laughed a whole lot because of how the picture comes across.

August 23 - And so we took more pictures!

August 23 - I left the kitchen for just a few seconds, came back and she had climbed onto the kitchen table to get into her rice bucket.

August 24 - Eden got a new stroller and it is by far her favorite toy. We take it on walks around the block, to the mailbox {everyday}, and walks in circles around the house over and over and over and over again.

August 25 - The rain cloud that loomed over the house all afternoon and left us with nothing...

August 25 - Eden looking at the rain cloud. She looks so peaceful.

August 26 - Eden dipped her tortalini in the sauce, but also smeared the sauce all over the table, her face, and her chair.

August 27 - Eden was feeding the baby her "cheerios."
August 28 - Happy Birthday Edwina. Too bad Eden never really cooperated for the picture and this is the best we got.

August 29 - The start of Lane's winging banner to congratulate him on finishing flight school. Only 19 more days from today! Wow, I can't believe its almost here already.

South Carolina

We made it to Louisiana, through Mississippi and Alabama to Georgia and then to Fripp Island, South Carolina. Eden has learned to sleep in the car. The first day she slept for only 30 minutes at a time, the next day she took an hour nap in the car {and I thought it was fabulous} but then on the last leg of the trip, she took a TWO hour nap! I couldn't have been any happier!!!!

We've made trips around the island in the golf cart, we've gone to the beach and we've gone to the pool. Eden has loved everything about Fripp so far - except having to get OFF the golf cart. She shows no fear of the ocean which only intensifies my fear of her in the ocean. I would love for her to have a respectful fear of the water and the waves. I do love that she doesn't like the sand very much. When she has sand on her feet she will say "ucky."

I have a lot of pictures to upload from before the trip, during the drive, and from so far at the beach. I've taken advantage of nap time by going to the pool with my nieces and my nephew without having to carry Eden in the water, so my normal "blog time" has been taken over. The weather today has been pretty crummy so far this morning, so maybe I'll be able to sit down to the computer again at some point today to upload all the pictures I need to. If not today, I promise I will sooner than later!
