This is the line that Eden insists on starting ALL prayers with. Blessing the food. Bedtime prayers. Middle of the day prayers. Any time prayers! She's catching on to the fact that we're saying our prayers often and she's realizing that the phrase "Dear God" is what starts most of them. For a while before bedtime our prayers were the same each night so that she could catch on and say them with us.
"Dear God. Thank you for a good day. Thank you for letting me spend time with Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Hunter {sometimes she adds people in from the day}. Be with everybody with hurting hearts and hurting bodies. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
As of this week Eden has started saying her own prayers and I cannot stop smiling when she says them. There's a lot of repetition, but they're beautiful! Last nights prayer went a little like this:
"Dear God, Day-due {thank you} for a good day.
Day-due for Daddy.
Day-due for Cael {her best friend here in SoCal}.
Day-due for Daddy.
Day-due for Mommy.
Day-due for Cael.
Day-due for Hunter.
Day-due for Daddy.
Day-due for Cael.
Day-due for Daddy. Be with hurting hearts and hurting bodies. Jesus 'ame' Amen."
It made my heart smile for Eden to say her own prayers. I'm excited for her to grow and learn about praying and getting the "logistics" of what she's doing.
