Interruption

I'm going to take a quick moment to take a break from all of my posts about Georgia and have a "Debbie Downer" moment. We got news tonight that there was an attack on a Marine base in Afghanistan and 2 Marines have been reported dead, while others were injured. I'm counting my blessings that Lane didn't have to stay longer tha he did and that he's already home safe because the attacks were on the base that he was visiting. This is also the base where we have friends stationed right now.

Please take a few moments to say a prayer for the men and women who are over there. Pray for their safety as they're over there defending our freedoms and sacrificing time with their own families. Please remember the friends and families who are at home without their loved ones and especially the ones who have lost a loved one in the most recent attacks. This has hit much closer to home this time and I pray that these attacks will come to an end one day. 

6 Month Pictures

If you don't remember, before we left I tried to take at home 6 month pictures of Eden and Hunter. Yeah, it didn't work! We could have won awards for most awkward, most frustrating, or even just the most odd bunch! I was in luck because my mom called and said, "When you're here I want to take the kids for pictures, so I have some updated ones," and I was excited to tell her I wanted to get them done too. I'm glad that they turned out well because mine from home sure didn't. I kind of wish they had turned out a little bit better, but I'll take what I can get, especially since Hunter was ticked half the time. And have no worries, they did a great job of getting some "outtakes" too!

Jazzy Beast

I got the email from The Little Gym in Snellville announcing that they were going to open up a new class. Jazzy Beasts! Say what? A dance class that was parent/child and just for kids 2-3? Sign me up. Well, sign Eden up and let me play too. It was lots of fun and, as always, made me miss my own TLG kids from Virginia. I always wish there was a TLG closer to us so I could take the kids. 

Eden had a blast in the dance room. They did ballet and then they did a creative movement and got to dance big and small while waving a scarf. She thought it was awesome, and I loved watching her do something that she enjoyed doing. 

 Once ballet was over the girls got to go into the gym for the air track and some exploration. Eden had never done the air track, but loves bounce houses and the air mattress {that she's not allowed to jump on} at home. During exploration time she got right up on the beam and walked across and jumped off like she had been on it a million times! She loved swinging from the bars, and was just right in her element!

Ms. Linda

When I was a baby, Ms. Linda cut my hair for the first time. She also cut Parker's hair, and she still cuts my dad's hair. When I knew we'd be in Georgia and Eden's hair was long enough {and enough of a mullet} to cut, I knew I had to take advantage. I hope Hunter's first haircut can also be done by Ms. Linda, but totally understand if it can't since we're so far away. I was also able to push it more with Eden since long hair is more acceptable with girls than boys. Here's hoping it all works out for him like it did for her.

She sat in Ms. Linda's chair and did so well. She didn't put up a fight at all and was so good the entire time. She enjoyed it and was just like an old pro.

When Linda cut Parker's hair for his first hair cut she had to make Mom and Dad leave the room because he was so hysterical. Of course the subject came up, so when it was his turn he did a great job pretending again!

Up, Up, and Away!

Eden has flown on an airplane before, but this time was different {for her and for me!} She really got to understand a little bit more that we were going to be up in the sky. She also got to piece together that we were flying in an airplane like Daddy gets to do! She was pretty excited about it. Not to mention, she had her own back pack, an iPod with movies on it, her own seat, and a suitcase that she could ride on while we were in the airport. The difference this time for me was that I was alone...with TWO kids! I never thought we'd make it out alive, but we did. The day we left also marked the day that Hunter is 27 weeks old. Because our flight was so early in the morning, I didn't get our traditional picture with the sign and in the chair. I did make sure to get a solo shot of him, and I did it in the chair as we were waiting to get on the plane. I figured it would be as close to the traditional as possible, but let's face it, leaving the house at 5am wasn't fun for anyone!

At the airport, ready to check our bags. The diaper bag is hanging from the car seat/stroller, Eden is rolling her own suitcase and wearing her back pack. The suitcase is hooked to another {and we checked both} and Hunter is in the carrier on me while I'm also wearing a back pack {I made sure to dress her in her brightest clothes so she'd be easy to spot if she wandered away. Luckily, this was a moot point!} We did it, we made it, and it wasn't too bad!

Eden watching Beauty and the Beast on the iPod. Lane took the iPad with him, so she had to deal with a 1in screen to watch a movie on. She didn't seem to mind, so all was ok.

Hunter on my lap in the plane. He didn't care one way or another about the planes. His ears seemed to be ok, and he nursed, slept, and smiled for the most part.

On our flight from Denver to Atlanta, Eden wanted to hold Hunter. They were too cute together. I love when she wants to be a big helper!
